Roger Rintala for Truckee Fire Protection District 2026
Roger is running for a seat on the Truckee Fire Protection District Board to be your community advocate.
The District will replace 3 of our 5 board members this election and we will lose a great deal of experience and wisdom. Roger has worked with the district for years now, helping to build a local Firewise Community, volunteering on projects, and consistently attending board meetings. The District is a high functioning organization running on a responsible budget and delivering terrific service to our community.
Roger's professional and community volunteer experience will help steer District into the future while protecting the capabilities we depend upon. This includes the wildfire risk mitigation efforts the voters funded when we passed Measure T with 82% support. It is essential that we continue to protect what we have even as we reassess current needs and priorities and plan to build for the future.
Roger is ready to honor the commitment made to voters that the Community Wildfire Prevention Fund created through Measure T will remain dedicated to improving the safety, health and resilience of our forested community. It should not be modified now or in the future to pursue other agendas.
There are several current and near term challenges the District will need to manage through and Roger is well informed and eager to engage on all of them. We will need to take care of our firefighters and provide them the tools they need to continue to a great job of responding to the Fire, EMS, & Rescue calls they receive every day. We will need to take care of our tools and infrastructure and respond to the changing needs of a growing community while maintaining the fiscal discipline that has kept the District financially healthy.
I welcome the opportunity to converse with community members served by the Truckee Fire Protection District
