I've seen Roger's engagement with the fire district at every level, he's a respectful listener and a quick learner who does his homework and comes prepared.. He brings new ideas while trusting the team he's working with. He's a considered decision maker, willing to test assumptions without losing sight of the expertise around him. That's exactly the balance we need on our board.

I’m proud to endorse Roger Rintala for the Truckee Fire Protection District Board. Roger brings a thoughtful, level headed approach and a genuine commitment to the Truckee community. He understands the importance of responsible decision making, fiscal accountability, and maintaining the high level of service our community depends on. I believe Roger will listen, ask the right questions, and always put the long term interests of Truckee Fire and the community first.
We've known Roger for many years as an accomplished coach and mentor to our kids on the AM Ski Teams, and as our friend and neighbor. Roger is a smart, caring and effective professional and a great guy. He's deeply routed in our community and passionate about helping to keep it Great through personal service on the FD Board. Of Course, the Fire Dept. is a key Town Agency, and I'm confident Roger will serve as an excellent asset to keeping it strong. Thanks for Stepping Up Rog'! Paul Peters
I am delighted to endorse Roger Rintala. I've known him and his family for at least fifteen years. I was a resident of Truckee for almost a quarter century until recently. He is a man of integrity, and determination , and possesses a strong desire to help his community and the families and people of Truckee. He will serve on the Fire District board with honor, dedication and a well-developed knowledge of the needs of the Truckee/Tahoe Community.
I am proud to support Roger Rintala for the Truckee Fire Board. I have had the pleasure of working with Roger as a ski coach and leader who has spent years investing in young athletes and helping them grow both on and off the mountain. What impresses me most is his ability to bring people together, ask thoughtful questions, and focus on practical solutions. Roger cares deeply about our community and approaches every opportunity to serve with humility, professionalism, and genuine care for others. This ski season, he's taking on an even greater role in helping train and develop the next generation of ski coaches, ensuring his positive impact will be felt for years to come. Truckee would be fortunate to have Roger's leadership, dedication, and commitment to service on the Fire Board.
The Truckee Fire Protection District is a well-run organization that delivers terrific service to our community, and the people we choose to guide it matter.
Roger understands the District and what it needs, and he brings a collaborative, servant-leader approach.
Roger shows up, does the homework, and asks good questions. It's clear he commits to the things he cares about with enthusiasm and passion. The District will be fortunate to have such a dedicated community servant.
What an incredible opportunity for the Truckee Community! I’ve known Roger since we served together on the Cal Poly Ski Club Board in the early ‘90’s (he was the President), and I can attest that he is the one of the most friendly, committed, knowledgeable, “can-do” people I have ever met. Do not pass up this opportunity to “hire” Roger for this position by giving him your vote!
Roger has to be hands down one of the coolest, most genuine and loving people I have ever met. I had the blessing of growing up skiing with him out of Alpine Meadows and even though I was never on his team, he would always invite me to ski with them, make me feel like family and ensure that I always had a smile on my face. He deserves everyones support because he is truly someone who cares about others and he has always put his time and dedication into serving others before himself!
I've known Roger since he served as President of the Cal Poly Ski Club, one of the largest ski clubs in the nation. Running an organization of that size takes organization, reliability, and the ability to bring a lot of different people together. Roger had all of that then, and he has it now. Roger brought the same commitment to Truckee. He has helped build a local Firewise Community, volunteered on District projects, and attended board meetings consistently, long before asking for anyone's vote. Roger has the knowledge and steady judgment to help carry it forward. He will protect the wildfire prevention work voters funded through Measure T, support our firefighter paramedics, and maintain the fiscal discipline that keeps the District healthy, all while planning for a growing community. Roger listens, does his homework, and treats people with respect. I've trusted him as a friend for years, and I'm confident Truckee can trust him too. He has my full support, and I hope he has yours on November 3.
I first met Roger over a decade ago when he coached my three kids on the Alpine Meadows ski teams. Roger was more than a coach to my kids and the other ski team families. He was the grand master of mountain stoke! He helped foster community among the ski team kids and families, found ways for all of us to enjoy the mountains more, and generally had a positive impact on everyone he met. Personally, I've also spent a lot of time with Roger and shared notes with him on personal and professional pursuits. He's a great sounding board and always offers a thoughtful perspective on navigating this crazy life we all live. I'm happy and proud to call Roger a family friend, and I believe he's the kind of committed individual who can make a positive impact on the Board of Truckee Fire Protection District!
It would be difficult to find a better person to responsibly represent the North Lake Tahoe community.
Roger was my ski coach for many years as my kid and he always knew how to support me then and now that I am older. He is an amazing person, and deserves all of the support!
I'm very proud to endorse Roger Rintala. Truckee will gain an amazing representative on the District Board. His dedication and leadership are a perfect blend with his commitment to serving the Truckee community. As a long-time Truckee resident, Roger will bring great perspective on the community's needs, while also addressing Firefighter safety concerns, staffing shortfalls, equipment upgrades and budget challenges.
Roger has demonstrated his ability to lead, bring people together, and take responsibility. What has always stood out to me about Roger is his patience and commitment to others. Whether serving as a leader, coach, or volunteer, he listens, stays engaged, and follows through. Roger has brought these same qualities to his involvement in the Truckee community. His leadership experience, organizational skills, dedication, and genuine care for others would bring valuable perspective to the Truckee Fire Protection District Board.
Roger Rintala is one of the most straight forward, honest and thoughtful people I’ve ever known. Roger never turns away from a challenge. It is an honor to endorse Roger Rintala, as I know he cares deeply about and will work tirelessly for the Truckee community.
I have seen Roger consistently show up for others and the community of where he lives. He shows up by listening fully to others. He shows up by educating himself fully on all points of an issue to be able to come up with solutions that matter. He shows up by showing up, putting in the time and effort to connect with people and see things through and carry them forward. I am proud to have him as a friend and proud to endorse him for the Truckee Fire Protection District. I fully believe Truckee will greatly benefit from his dedication, committment, intellegience and compassion.
I have know Roger for over 30 years. He is one of the most trustworthy and caring people I know.
I’m Roger’s wife, so I’ve seen the work he puts into this up close, and I’m proud to endorse him. Roger doesn’t just show up on election year. He attends the district’s meetings and stays involved. He reads all of the materials and asks good questions. When a decision is coming, he has already done the reading, so he can speak to the issue with knowledge rather than guesses. What I admire most is how he works with others. Fire protection doesn’t stop at a district boundary, and Roger understands that. He builds relationships with neighboring agencies and seeks input from other districts, because he knows our community is safer when we learn from and coordinate with the people around us. He listens before he decides, and he treats that as part of the job, not a courtesy. Roger takes this responsibility seriously. He cares about the firefighters and staff who serve us, and he cares about the residents who depend on them. He will approach every decision the way he approaches everything: prepared, engaged, and respectful of the people affected.
